Robert James Rooke was exposed to music at an early age and started playing electric bass at age 11. Robert then picked up the guitar at age 13 and never looked back. He started writing songs at the same time and won the local contest “Chestermere Idol” with an original song.
Inspired after hearing Stevie Ray Vaughan’s version of Little Wing, Robert devoted himself to learning the blues from trying to emulate the likes of SRV, Jimi Hendrix, Joe Bonamassa and John Mayer. Over time Robert’s musical interests expanded and he attended Mount Royal University to obtain a diploma in Jazz Guitar Performance.
