At 18 Koji studied with Sadayasu Fujii, one of Japan’s legendary Jazz pianists. Soon established as a jazz guitarist in Kyoto, Osaka and Kobe, Koji considered going to North America. In April 2004, he traveled to Toronto to join it’s renowned Jazz scene which includes the likes of Oscar Peterson, Dave Young and his soon to be mentor renowned Canadian guitarist Reg Schwager. Known for his passion for Brazilian repertoire Schwager inspired Koji to pursue this genre. Koji is now on his way to mastering bebop and bossanova. In Toronto, Koji is half of the vocal/guitar duo Hori Tait as well as a member of Conversation Piece Quartet. He has also completed Canada’s reputed Jazz program at Humber College. Koji Hori is a very hard working guitarist with an immense talent.
