Angela Turone is a vocalist and pianist who is quickly establishing herself on the Canadian jazz scene. Born and raised in Toronto, Angela sang in choirs and studied classical piano throughout her childhood. As a teenager, she discovered the music of jazz vocalists such as Shirley Horn, Nina Simone and Ella Fitzgerald. Angela has performed at Toronto’s top jazz venues including the Jazz Bistro, the Rex Jazz and Blues Bar, and the Home Smith Bar at the Old Mill Toronto. Her voice, described as “warm and lush,” can be relished in a duo, trio or quartet configuration.
