Max Fomitchev got his performing start at age 13 in his birthplace, Moscow, Russia. Max earned his MFA in Drama and graduated at the top of his class; he then went on to tour around the world with the Zakutok Players, a unique theatre group of deaf artists from the former Soviet Union. While touring North America in 1992, Max left his troupe to begin a new life in Vancouver, Canada. Max has realized his dream as a professional performer, bringing his highly regarded acting and mime skills to festivals and celebrations around the world. He has landed small but poignant roles on TV series, commercials and the feature film Saving Silverman, starring Jason Biggs and Jack Black.

In Max’s stage show, Rainman, he uses prop manipulation and physical comedy to unravel the journey of a downtrodden man who recreates a dance with his lost love. Audiences are in awe of his talent and are always touched by this sweet, but melancholy tale.

A flexible improviser, Max incorporates his mime theatrics with charm in way that pulls the audience into the stories he creates. He continues to act in live comedy shows and perform at festivals locally and around the world. This year he made a huge splash in Melbourne, Australia, at the 2005 celebration for the Deaf Olympics.
