After graduating from the prestigious Instituto Superior de Arte in Havana, she continued to expand her piano career, displaying a versatility that enabled her to tour the island extensively, performing both as a soloist, and with ensembles, in such prestigious venues as the Havana National Theater, the Lecuona Hall, and the Garcia Lorca Theater. She was also a member of the National Center of Concert Music, participating in weekly concerts at the Castillo de la Gran Fuerza and other prominent venues. A superbly talented pianist, Cary has won numerous awards for her remarkable musicianship, including the top award for the Amadeo Roldan annual piano competition.
Now in Canada, Cary continues to enchant audiences wherever she performs, and her work with bands such as La Candela, and The Benavides Band, among others, has seen her performing at World Music and Jazz festivals throughout Canada and US (Kaslo Jazz Festival, Midsummer Festival, Sacramento Jazz Jubilee, Pentastic Jazz Festival, Listen Up Festival, Festival Vancouver, etc.).
Cary's trio features percussionist, Paul Bray, and bassist, Michael Rush. Their repertoire honors their Cuban musical heritage with sounds reminiscent of the colonial late 1800's, to the high-spirited 20th century styles.
